The Titan Missile Museum is looking for docents to teach the history of the Cold War. The one-hour long tour requires docents to stand/walk and master the tour content. Do you have a good speaking voice? 5-hour shifts.
We need docents half-day, all-day, or as much time as you can provide. Museum deals with 1900 Southern Arizona history, set amid over 150 horse-drawn wagons and carriages. Great place to meet people and interact with the thousands of school age children. Interviewing now through mid-December.
The Sahuarita Food Bank is in need of a volunteer who would be willing to teach a computer class on Thursday afternoon, an hour before shopping begins, for about four weeks. Someone who speaks Spanish is preferred, as many of our clients are Spanish speakers. The class is scheduled to begin in January.

Friends of the Green Valley Library needs help moving boxes of books on an “on call” basis. Use your own transportation; reimbursed for mileage.
The Whipple Observatory needs you as a tour guide or public information specialist. Tour guides accompany visitors on the tour bus, explaining observatory operations and showing the telescopes at the top of Mount Hopkins. Public information specialists run the visitor center by demonstrating the exhibits, making tour reservations and selling merchandise.
Historic Canoa Ranch is getting ready to launch three new exhibits at our upcoming Anza Day (October 14, 2017) and is in need of volunteers to help with preparation and installation. We have hundreds of items that need washing and cleaning and placement in display cases. We’re looking for volunteers to come to the ranch on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 8:30 am to Noon.
Shuttle transport from Tucson or from Ajo Way is provided! Volunteer docents are needed at Kitt Peak. We offer excellent training sessions to prepare you for your duties on the mountain. Our next set of training sessions begin October 10th!

Storytime Volunteers visit preschools and childcare centers weekly to share books, songs, and puppets with toddlers and preschool-age children in whole and small group settings. Volunteers help make books come alive and provide engaging interactions around books.
Sahuarita Educational Enrichment Foundation needs volunteers to perform two specific tasks. One is to help write grants for funding from various sources. The second task is to help develop a system that SEEF can use to track the success rate of their projects and rate of return on investments (i.e., develop and use a “dash board”).
