MOAA plays an active role in military personnel matters and especially proposed legislation affecting the career force, the retired community, and veterans of the uniformed services.

Locally, the Green Valley chapter is an active and growing organization with approximately 80 members from all of the services. Our membership includes, not only retired military members, but also auxiliary members who contribute significantly to our success. Our chapter has been awarded MOAA’s highest award for demonstrated excellence for thirteen consecutive years. We invite you to attend one of our events to get to know us.

Here are some of our Volunteer Activities that can use your help:

• Participate in the Scholarship Fund that awards scholarships to outstanding JROTC students from Sahuarita, Walden Grove, Rio Rico and Nogales high schools.
• Help the Military Assistance Fund to help the families of Arizona National and Air Guard personnel.
• Provide personal care items for veterans who are enrolled in the VA homeless program.
• Provide veterans with hand-knitted items
• Conduct Food for the Troops collections giving both money and non-perishable foods to the National Guard Food Locker used by lower ranked airmen in the Air National Guard.
• Support our “Turkeys for Troops” Program
• Support “Honor Flight” program and participants
