The road can be foreboding for people struggling to reenter mainstream society after years of displacement due to military service, incarceration, substance dependency and/or homelessness. Questions arise — Where do I go next? How do I get started? Where can I find guidance and support? Where can I find others that I can relate to?
When people face homelessness, Old Pueblo Community Services offers housing, counseling and support services to help them transform their lives.
Change a Life – Volunteer!
Do you have time and talent you would like to share with Old Pueblo Community Services? If so, we’d love to hear from you.
Join us in Transforming Lives–Become a Donation Drive Ambassador
OPCS is in constant need of everyday hygiene products and clothing. A great way to get involved is by running your very own donation drive at your school, work, or church! To get started please contact Paula Burrow at PBurrow@helptucson.org or call (520) 528-5925.
Additional Volunteer Projects
Group Activitie Have a team of people you like to volunteer with – your church, school, community service organization, or veteran group? We have opportunities for you to engage with and enhance the lives of our persons in transition.
Behind the Scenes Assist our staff with data entry, answering phones, filing, copying, etc. Behind the scenes work is as valuable to our mission as is direct work with clients — it allows staff to provide uninterrupted and important services to participants.
Special Events/Committee Work Old Pueblo hosts First Tuesday Tours, plans annual fundraising events and participates annually in the United Way Days of Caring.
Board of Directors If you have an interest in serving on the Old Pueblo Group Board of Directors, please contact Tom Litwicki, CEO, tlitwicki@helptucson.org or (520) 437-3601.
The availability of volunteer opportunities changes throughout the year, so not all projects are available at all times. This list provides a general overview of some options for volunteers.
There are a variety of places where you might spend time volunteering. We thank you for considering OPCS as one of your options. Contact PBurrow@helptucson.org to find out what projects might be available at different locations.
