We offer a safe and stimulating environment for adults in a community-based group setting. Adult Day Services are designed to provide adults with supervised care in a safe place outside the home during the day. We also afford caregivers respite from the demanding responsibilities of caregiving. Our program offers creative self-expression activities, a healthy and delicious lunch, socialization throughout the day, and supervision by trained leaders and volunteers.
Volunteers serve an important role at adult day services center. When you volunteer, you’re helping older adults remain in their own homes for as long as possible. Plus you are helping Adult Day Services carry-out its mission. The return you receive from volunteering will enrich your life.
We have many volunteer opportunities waiting for you:
Art Volunteer
Assist staff or lead small groups or one-on-one art activities, one to two times each month.
Art Projects include:
- Water or acrylic painting
- Working with clay
- Wood working
- Photography
- Paper crafts
- Other mediums
Program Assistant Volunteer
Volunteers help the Activities Director get participants involved and engaged in the fun and social activities. The position offers a form of companionship to the participants attending Adult Day Services. You work one-on-one with an individual or with the group.
Entertainment Volunteers
Volunteers share your talents like playing musical instruments, singing, story telling, painting, writing, and performing arts.
Devotions Volunteers
Volunteers lead spiritual discussion and prayer groups by reading stories, scripture and singing hymns with the participants.
One-on-One Participant Volunteers
Volunteers work with participants with special needs who require one-on-one attention because of a disability or impairment. Volunteers take a participant aside for conversation or reading a book. It’s a time when the participant receives special attention.
Gardening Volunteers
Volunteers lead activities in gardening, arranging flowers, creating dried flower arrangements, small pot herb gardens, armchair garden tours.
Pet Therapy Volunteers
Volunteers bring their certified pet therapy dogs to Adult Day Services so the participants can enjoy holding or playing with their furry friends. The volunteers encourage participants to share stories and reminisce about their pets.
