About Us

At Valley Assistance Services, we are honored to support our neighbors throughout Sahuarita, Green Valley, Amado, Arivaca, Tubac, Tumacacori, Carmen, Rio Rico, and the surrounding rural areas. Every day, we work to be “your helping hand forward,” offering practical, compassionate services that meet people where they are and help them move toward greater stability, health, and independence.

Opportunities

We understand that everyone has different interests and strengths, which is why we offer a wide range of volunteer opportunities. From working directly with clients in their homes to providing education, assisting with support groups, or helping behind the scenes at special events, there’s a place for you to make a meaningful impact.

In-Home Volunteers

We provide transportation to seniors who no longer drive. Help promote socialization and avoid isolation. Help older adults stay in their homes & remain independent by providing the following:

• Transportation
• Errands
• Shopping
• Friendly visits
• Friendly phone calls
• Handyman services

Office Help

• Front office greeter; answer and direct phone calls
• Assemble outreach materials and applications
• Filing and organization of office supplies

Financial Literacy/Workforce Education

Provide education on different topics such as budgeting, understanding credit reports, resume and cover letter building, interview help and more.

SHiM®

Safety and Health in Motion – A fall prevention program that provides a free in-home safety assessment.

Virtual Dementia Tour

Interactive program, allowing someone to walk in the shoes of those with dementia. Training will be provided.

S.A.S.S.

Support and Socialization for Seniors- This group meets once a month and participates in an activity that will be provided.

Special Events

Attend different community events. Help with event set up and talk with people attending the event about our programs as well as volunteer opportunities.
