Looking for a meaningful way to make a difference in Southern Arizona? Valley Assistance Services needs volunteer drivers to help seniors maintain their independence and stay connected to their community.

For many of the seniors we serve, a ride to a doctor’s appointment, grocery store, pharmacy, or other essential destination is more than transportation. It is a lifeline. Without volunteer drivers, many older adults face isolation and difficulty accessing critical services. Even a few hours of your time can have a tremendous impact on someone’s quality of life.

In addition to driving opportunities, volunteers can:

• Help seniors with errands and friendly phone calls
• Assemble outreach materials
• Support our workforce program by participating in mock interviews
• Assist at community events

You can also join our S.A.S.S. (Support and Socialization for Seniors) group! This energetic group meets twice a month, and volunteers help with activities, socialize with participants, and create a welcoming environment where seniors can build friendships and stay engaged.

Whether you’re behind the wheel, lending a hand at an event, or offering companionship, your time makes a real difference. Right now, our greatest need is volunteer drivers. Because our drivers are so important to the community that we serve, they do receive mileage reimbursement at the federal rate.
