AmeriCorps Seniors
Northern Arizona University’s AmeriCorps Seniors Foster Grandparent Program offers adults 55 and older the opportunity to serve as mentors and tutors for children and youth in schools and other community settings. Foster Grandparents build strong, one-on-one relationships with high-needs students, helping them improve their academic and social skills. This program partners with local schools and non-profit community organizations to meet a range of needs within the community. For those who qualify, a stipend is available to lower-income older adults, in addition to compensation for mileage and training.

AmeriCorps Seniors volunteer you could receive:
- 5 to 35 hour a week service opportunities
- A modest, tax-free stipend
- Accident and liability insurance while on duty
- Personal and holiday leave
- Reimbursement for volunteer mileage
You can serve in NAU’s AmeriCorps Seniors
