Current opportunities

We need your help in Tubac Presidio Gardens, check in guests at the front desk, catalogue our collections, give tours… and MORE! Interpret the past. Shape the future. Tubac Presidio State Historic Park and Museum Interested in volunteering for Arizona’s first State Park?

You are most cordially invited to consider volunteering at the Tubac Presidio State Historic Park. Please join us in the extraordinary challenge to keep Arizona’s 1st State Park open, vibrant, and thriving.

Volunteers from the community have been able to “Save the Presidio” and keep Arizona’s first state park open and available to the public. We are in our 7th year of volunteer operation. Current volunteers can describe how special the experience of working at the Presidio is. With many opportunities and flexible scheduling, volunteers have great freedom to choose how and when they want to help out. Some tasks can be done in volunteers’ homes. You may be able to deduct some expenses related to volunteer work from your taxes.

Tubac Presidio State Historic Park has been wholly operated by volunteers since 2010 under the direction of the Friends of the Tubac Presidio and Museum. We have unlimited opportunities for volunteers including a new Docent Program. Learn to be a tour guide in history, archaeology, and education with our training and support.

The effort to “Save the Presidio” is an on-going task that continues to require the time, talent, and treasure of everyone in the community. We invite you to consider joining this volunteer effort to preserve Tubac’s past for the future. We can’t have too many helpers for this Herculean task!

Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Living History
  • Visitor Center
  • Interpretive Guide
  • Community Outreach
