About Us
Valley Assistance Services’ professional, compassionate staff provide RN advocacy, financial literacy training, benefits checkup and family programs. We are here to connect seniors and families with appropriate and essential social services, to reinforce independence and resilience, and create an improved quality of life.

Volunteers are an important part of our fulfilling our mission. We have a wide variety of volunteer opportunities:

In-Home Volunteers – We provide transportation to seniors who no longer drive. Help promote socialization and avoid isolation. Help older adults stay in their homes & remain independent by providing the following:

  • Transportation
  • Errands
  • Shopping
  • Friendly Visits
  • Friendly Phoning
  • Respite Care
  • Handy person

Office Help:

  • Front office greeter, answer & direct phone calls
  • Fill out intake forms for qualifying client’s
  • Filling, mailing & general office projects

Financial Education:

Provide one-on-one education classes on different topics such as budgeting, understanding credit reports, and balancing check books. Training and material provided.

SHIM:

Safety and Health In Motion – A fall prevention program that provides a free in home safety assessment.

Virtual Dementia Tour:

Interactive program, allowing someone to walk in the shoes of those with dementia. Tour is held twice a month.

Going Home With Care:

A post hospital program to help a senior get safely home. After a Green Valley Hospital visit, this program provides an RN for medical support and a driver to take you home at discharge. (Monday through Friday)

Special Events:

Attend different community events. Help with table setup and talk with people attending the event about our programs.
