Books for Classrooms is a new non-profit organization that provides teacher-selected supplemental literature to southern Arizona district public schools. Staff and volunteers work with the community and schools to provide high-quality literature that is relevant, age appropriate and encourage an understanding of diversity, peace, social justice and conflict resolution.

Become a volunteer and join our team:

• Volunteer Coordinator Manage the organization’s calendar of events. Schedule and monitor volunteers and materials for a variety of activities including presentations, tabling, fundraising events.
• Creative Writer Assist with developing Facebook postings, writing newsletter articles, sending periodic email updates to contacts.
• Grant Writer Prepare grant proposals and look into potential funding sources.
• Event Planning Plan fund-raising campaigns and promoting the organization through public relations work.
• Financial Development Develop fundraising plan and secure financial support from individuals, foundations and corporations.
